A duck race is a community event! The Milford Harbor Duck Race will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 11am – 4pm. The duck race will begin at the Wepawaug River across the street from Stonebridge and next to SBC. It will end at the harbor adjacent to Fowler Field. A front loader will literally drop thousands of rubber ducks into the river (scheduled for 2pm) and the ducks will 'race' through a series of boons until they cross the finish line – one at a time! The ducks, which are each numbered to correspond to an 'Raffle Certificate' number, will be pulled out of the river in order of arrival. Winner need not be present to win. The event will also include food and family entertainment at the Fowler Pavilion. This is a rain or shine event.
The duck owners with the 'Raffle Certificate' number that corresponds to the number on the winning ducks will win one of 95 prizes!
We are not selling an actual duck – but instead – we are selling 'Raffle Certificates'. 'Raffle Certificates' are all individually and sequentially numbered and correspond to an individual number on the bottom of a duck. Raffle Certificates will be for sale the day of the event (May 5th) until 1:30 pm. In the months leading up to the event, tickets will be sold throughout Milford. Ducks are also for sale at retail locations around Milford. Please visit our 'Buy a Duck' page for complete details.
Corporate Ducks are also available for businesses who wish to be a part of the Corporate Duck Race.
